Barkhold

"Barkholds are a subspecies of the Mimicus Mandacor - known in commoners' tongue as the Mimic - and are often encountered in dense forests or sprawling fields. They survive by preying on local wildlife and careless passersby, however, they do so poorly. Contrary to their dungeon-inhabiting brethren, the Barkhold is firmly rooted into the ground and cannot move whatsoever. The only thing that is flexible on their bodies is their mouth, leaving their hunting capabilities limited to snapping to unknowing deer or birds that happen to venture too close. A Barkhold therefore rarely reaches adulthood if it isn't being fed by locals.
As of the time of writing, the Barkhold is an endangered species. Several specimen are being kept in the Imperial Menagerie of Adelheimm and are to be fed one prisoner each week. It's currently unknown how to get two specimen to breed."
